  • HOW IS THE GLASS MADE?
The glass is made by hand at Glass Forest's studio, each piece is custom made to order and designed with the client to meet specific needs and colors. Then ceramic based molds are created for shape, texture and dimension, then those molds are placed on the large kiln bed, then the flat sheet glass is laid on top of the glass. Next the kiln is closed and slowly heats the glass up in a controlled program. When the glass reaches around 1400 degrees, the glass slumps over the ceramic textures and molds. Once the glass is cooled and out of the kiln, specialized colored glass enamels are layered on to the back of the glass created the design and art piece. Once done the glass piece is placed back in the kiln and fired so the enamels are permanently bonded to the back of the glass.
